Even though it has been over a month since we returned from Walt Disney World, I thought I would go over the remainder of the trip with some closing thoughts. Please read on for my comments on the last leg of our May 2010 WDW Vacation.

The last 5 mights of our stay we were at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and we had a good time. Our 5th floor savanna view was very nice and had a great view of overlooking the savanna. The dedicated 2-bedroom was very nice as well and we enjoyed the layout of the room at Kidani. The master bathroom was very nice, especially compared to Bay Lake Tower. Here are my ratings from the two places we stayed this past trip:

Resort Ratings (out of possible 10)
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – 7.0
Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – 8.5

The downfall to Bay Lake Tower was that our ‘Magic Kingdom View Room’ didn’t really have a ‘Magic Kingdom View’. It had more like a Contemporary View, and the staff at the Contemporary were not the best to work with on getting it straightened out. Eventually I just settled with the room and took care of it later with DVC member services. The check-in was not the most entertaining either, since Bay Lake shares check-in with the Contemporary. This just means longer lines and more waiting. I love the proximity to the Magic Kingdom, but I doubt that we will be staying here anytime soon again.

Kidani Village on the other hand only has a slight downfall, but it is enough to make it’s presence well aware. The entire resort is very nice, and we loved almost everything about it, except that it is very far from everything except Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While our home resort (Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa) isn’t the closest to some of the parks, this one takes the cake for longest shuttle rides. And if you want to go anywhere, it will be by bus or by your own transportation.

I have a lot more to elaborate on which I will be adding soon. I am sorry for the delay on getting this information up, but I got busy with work, the kids, the holiday weekend, and of course the little event in which my camcorder turned up missing. Thankfully all the video and pictures from our vacation were already downloaded to my computer before it grew legs, but at least I have the camcorder replaced already. Thank you West Bend Insurance!

Please stay tuned for more reviews and updates on our past trip. I will be adding them soon.
